A Letter to the Boy Raised Wrong

Young man,

I hear you’re turning 13 soon. Soon you’ll truly be coming of an age where you can become independent and prove to the world what you can offer.

In the world my father grew up in, a boy becoming a young man was looked upon with great enthusiasm and intrigue. The young man of years past was seen as limitless, allowed to be passionate and rambunctious, as is the way of the soul of a Man.

Unfortunately you do not have the luxury of growing up in the same world my father did. The young man of today is more or less considered a burden, merely an obstacle to the young women growing along side you.

I know you don’t see much difference in the girls you surround yourself with, and it’s true that their lives are just as valuable as yours or any of the other boys your age. We must continue to treat our male and female counterparts with respect, but never treat one with a sense of superiority.

It may not make sense now, or even ever, but the world has become one of belittling the masculine Man, the Man which built the modern world up from ash and rubble and the Man that has created a safe and prosperous society which we learn how to treat each other with respect.

Do not let this big world come to fool you, and I have faith that you will see past the propaganda. You are special, and so are all of the other boys in your class. Men have a special place in this world now and forever, and I hope you will one day join me in my journey to restore faith in the masculine Man.

I give you my blessings and wish you farewell.

Sincerely,

Your Biggest Advocate.
